Teeth Whitening care
For the next 48 hours,
- Dark staining substances should be avoided, such as:
a. Red wine, cola, coffee, and tea
b. Berries such as cherries, blueberries, strawberries
c. Tobacco products
d. Red sauces, mustard sauce or ketchup, soya sauce - During the first 24 hours after a whitening treatment, you may
experience tooth sensitivity. This is normal and is usually mild. - Use of desensitizing toothpaste (if prescribed) is recommended for
10-14 days. - Since the mouth is open continuously during the whitening session,
dryness or chapping of the lips or cheek margins may occur. This can
be treated by application of lip balm, petroleum jelly or Vitamin E
cream. - The shade of the teeth appears whiter immediately after the
procedure but as the teeth rehydrate over the next 7 days, the shade
may tone down a bit. This is very much normal. - You may or may not require additional sitting of bleaching. This
would have been explained to you by your doctor depending upon
your basic shade of teeth. - Please feel free to contact us in case of any problem.
- Use a soft-bristled toothbrush or an electronic toothbrush and brush
your teeth with the appropriate technique as advised by your dentist. - Practice good oral hygiene by tooth brushing, flossing, and tongue
cleaning. We will assist you in selecting the products to maintain not
only a white smile but a healthy one as well.
